Get ready for more demonstrations this spring!
The South Carolina CofCC will begin holding demonstrations against amnesty for illegal aliens again in the early spring of 2007. We are building a coalition of organizations including Minutemen, 3rd Parties, and other locall groups that will be participating in demonstrations with us. In 2006 we held the largest anti-amnesty demonstration in the country.

On July 9th, 2006 the Spartanburg Journal-Herald published an op-ed piece on immigration by the SC Council of Conservative Citizens. Read Op-ed.

On June 29th about 40 people, including many CofCC members, protested a SC GOP fundraiser with Lindsey Graham and John McCain in Columbia, SC. McCain and Graham are open-borders neo-cons, who are among the top advocates of amnesty and immigration increases. The fundraiser was a major bust for the SC GOP. with low turnout and weak donations.

The Opening Salvo!

About 30 hard core activists attended a CofCC demonstration against amnesty on April 8th, despite pouring rain, scattered thunder and lightning, and heavy wind.

The South Carolina CofCC had to cancel some of the planned activities do to weather, but a smaller scale demonstration of diehards went on anyway even though they had to stand in the rain almost the entire time.

CofCC members constructed a two piece mobile billboard stating, "Stop Illegal Immigration." The sign could be read from at least 100 yards away. Others held smaller signs and waved flags. As we stood along Assembly street in front of the statehouse, literally hundreds of passing cars honked, cheered, or simply waved and gave thumbs up.

Interviews were given to the local NBC affiliate, the State, South Carolina's largest newspaper, and the Daily Gamecock, a local college newspaper.

The SC CofCC can make sizable dent in the pro-amnesty/open borders crowds by ruining Lindsey Graham's chances of ever holding office again. The people of South Carolina are practically in total agreement that amnesty is wrong, but the major newspapers cover for Graham and hide the truth about his work in the Senate.

If you would like to be involved, or you are with the media, you can call Kyle Rogers at 1-843-278-5081.
